Canadia for dummies

Eastern Canada

We did the usual, started in Toronto, went to Niagara Falls then on to Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec.
All on Via Rail Canada which was dirt cheap but made British Rail or whatever it is called these days look fast and efficient.

Olympic Stadium Montreal - now a biodome!

The Botanical Gardens in Montreal - you wouldn't know you were in Canadia!

The Language Law in Quebec is ludicrous. Which abbreviation of BOULEVARD is French and which is English. I mean come on guys - stop being such a bunch of idiots or idiotes if they are French idiots.

Ottawa parliament building

In an anti-discrimination move, most squirrels are now black

Quebec is the oldest and most European of North American cities. And it rained like it was in Europe too.

Imagine you are General Wolf sailing up the St Lawrence in 1759 or whenever it was.

Only in Quebec!!!!! No water in the pool but the life guard was still on duty. What a bunch of retards. Is retard a French word???

OK so both Wolf and Montcalm died that day.

Casa Loma in Toronto. The closest the Canadans got to a stately home. I think the owner had his own business or something very New World-ish.

Thai cultural festival was very popular despite the cold rain

Unfortunately the same could not be said for the Bengali Festival taking place just half a mile away:)

American Falls - Niagara

Horseshoe Falls Niagara on the Canadian side

This is my best photo - taken from the Skylon thingee
